The Circle of Security® Parenting™ program

What is The Circle of Security® Parenting™ program?

This program is an 8 session program developed from decades of attachment research.

The Circle of Security® Parenting™ program supports parents to:

  • Understand their child’s emotional world by learning to read their emotional needs

  • Support their child’s ability to successfully manage emotions

  • Enhance the development of their child's self esteem

  • Honour the innate wisdom and desire for their child to be secure

Why might these things be important for my child and our relationship?

Both research and experience tells us, that having a secure relationship with one or both of your parents can give children the foundation to having a positive self esteem, forming long lasting healthy relationships now and in the future, improved emotion regulation, improved problem solving skills, increased likelihood of turning to parents in times of need and trust in the ones they love.

Who may benefit from this program?

Anyone who is a parent or parent to be! Quite simply, all of us can benefit from having a space to think about who we currently are as parents or who we'd like to be as a parent. Whenever we take the time to reflect, our child and relationship benefits.

Often parents seek help when their family is struggling for a number of reasons such as: separation anxiety, emotional outbursts (tantrums), family arguments, history of trauma (either for parents, child or both), anxiety/depression or; fear of repeating unhelpful relational patterns.
